Time to talk about reading habits! I came across this book tag at Quirky Pages and thought it looked like a lot of fun. I encourage you to think of your own answers as you read, and if it sounds fun to you too, consider yourself tagged!
1: Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
The sofa. I spend so much time lounging and reading on one particular spot of it that the fabric on the cushion is starting to come apart.
2: Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I have several pretty bookmarks that I’ve bought or have been gifted to me, so I wouldn’t use a boring old piece of paper unless I somehow lost them all.
3: Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
I prefer to stop at a chapter or scene break, but sometimes life interrupts, and there’s no choice but to stop in the middle of a sentence.
4: Do you eat or drink while reading?
Tea, anyone?
5: Multitasking- Music or TV while reading?
No, I don’t need distractions. But if someone else is playing music or watching TV in the house, I’m usually so in the zone that I can ignore it.
6: One book at a time or several at once?
One at a time! I feel like I would confuse myself otherwise.
7: Reading at home or everywhere?
Usually, I read at home. The exception is when I’m on vacation, and then I’ll read at the hotel, beach, etc.
8: Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently in my head. Nobody else needs to know what I’m reading. 😉
9: Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
Not intentionally, but sometimes when I’m reading a really intense scene, I’ll read so fast that I end up skimming and accidentally missing stuff.
10: Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
Break the spine! Books are meant to be read.
11. Do you write in your books?
No, I’m usually so engrossed in the story that it doesn’t occur to me to stop and pick up a pen or pencil. This might be different if I read more nonfiction, but I’m a fiction kind of girl.
