Sting of Thorns Cover

The fight is over, and Leigh Morgan won. After spending months spying in Otherworld as a servant, she’s rescued the humans who were abducted by the Others and sent them safely home. She had to stay behind to destroy the gateway between worlds and keep them safe, but tough luck. She’s prepared to pay the price.

But she didn’t expect the curse the queen of Otherworld lays on her: a thorny vine growing under Leigh’s skin that will kill her when it reaches her heart. The queen will lift the curse…if Leigh uses her connections in the human realm to locate a magical weapon not seen in hundreds of years.

To ensure she succeeds, the queen sends her son, Dredarion Rath, the cunning prince Leigh had to betray to save her people. With anger and hurt still fresh, they can barely stand to be in the same room together, much less cooperate on such a dangerous mission. But as Leigh’s friends risk everything to help her, she’ll have to find a way to reconcile with Dredarion before their quest gets her and everyone she cares about killed.

“I absolutely LOVED this. It’s funny, it’s a little romantic, it has a really great plot and characters I like. There’s really nothing negative about it, to be honest.” – One Book Two Reviews

“[Hero Status] is a wonderful look at a world of superheroes, and a brilliant look at the morality of one’s actions and what we should do in comparison to what we sometimes feel we must do.” – K. Orion Fray

Villainous

The White Knight & Black Valentine Series, Book 2

New ebook cover for the supervillain novel Villainous. Shows a woman in shadow over a city.

Valentina Belmonte isn’t evil anymore—honest. She’s hung up her supervillain costume, retired to Florida with her family, and hasn’t committed a crime in years. (Well, not a felony. What’s a misdemeanor here and there if you don’t get caught?) This time, she’s not the one in trouble with the law—her goody-two-shoes, former superhero of a husband is.

He saved her life two months ago but committed a spectacular amount of assault and property damage along the way. The feds plan to press charges…unless Val does something for them in exchange. Apparently, an old friend of hers is importing a deadly drug that gives people temporary psychic powers. The feds want to send in Val with a wire to get evidence to bring him down. Sounds simple enough, but things turn deadly fast, and Val finds herself up against another supervillain—one who can out-play her at her own game.

Val’s worried she’s gone soft since retirement, but if she doesn’t get the feds the evidence they need, her husband will end up rotting in one of the most hellish prisons in the country…

Almost Invincible

The White Knight & Black Valentine Series, Book 3

New ebook cover for superhero thriller novel Almost Invincible.

When a rescue mission goes horribly wrong, it will take all his superpowers just to survive.

White Knight is the most popular superhero in the country—which is bad news for David Del Toro, formerly White Knight, who retired from heroics years ago and just wants some peace and quiet. When the White Knight ride at a superhero-inspired theme park has a grand reopening, Dave is more than happy to give his complimentary tickets to his daughter and her friends and spend the day at home. But then the park gets taken hostage by supervillains.

The man known as Bloodbath spent the last decade in a maximum-security prison and blames White Knight for putting him there. He’s given an ultimatum: the hero comes to face him, or he’ll kill every tourist in the park. Dave barely managed to beat Bloodbath while in his prime and doesn’t like his chances now that he’s old and busted. But unless he does something, every innocent person in the park is going to die…including his daughter.

Superhuman Disaster

New ebook cover for superhero novel Superhuman Disaster

A hero awakens.

Retired superhero David Del Toro has just woken from a coma—or at least, that’s what the black-market doctor watching over him in an off-the-grid safehouse says. The doctor can’t tell him what happened, but that’s alright. Dave figures he can just ask his family. Except they’re nowhere to be found, their phone numbers are all disconnected, and when he goes home, he finds a hole the size of an elephant smashed into the front of the house and nothing inside.

A villain returns.

Frantic to find his family, Dave calls on all the contacts he made over his superhero career. He learns that his wife has apparently gone back to being a supervillain, and his former sidekick has become a rogue vigilante. Something rotten is going on in the DSA, the law enforcement agency that handles superhuman crime. What does it have to do with Dave’s family? And with such a late start, still suffering the aftereffects of the coma, does Dave have any hope of stopping it?

  1. Hey! Just finished the Kindle sample and wanted to say it convinced me to get the rest of the book. Really liked it. As an avid comicbook reader, I’ve been looking for a good superhero novel to read. So far nothing on Amazon has really grabbed me like this. Thanks.
Oh… and I can’t help but hear Craig T. Nelson as the narrator 😀

    1. zcotty, thank you so much! Your comment made my day. I was definitely aiming this novel at comic book readers, so I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed it.
I wonder how much Mr. Nelson would charge to do the audiobook. 😉
P.S. Sorry it took so long for your comment to appear. I had it set so I had to manually approve all comments–but I just fixed that, so you shouldn’t have to wait so long again!

      1. 😀 No harm in asking Mr. Nelson.

I’m now 30% through the book and still loving it. My reading time is limited to morning on the way to work, afternoon/evening on the way home and just before bed, so the going is kind of slow.

I’ll edit my Amazon review when I’m done.

In the meanwhile… keep working on the sequel. 😉

  2. I don’t know if the comments show up SUPER slow (no pun intended) or what the problem is, but my comment hasn’t shown up, so apologies if I double post…

I just wanted to say that I’ve been searching for a decent superhero novel recently without much success. I’m an avid comic book reader and finding a book that captures me in the same way as a comic has been hard.

Your book did it! 🙂 Thanks! I was beginning to think that it wasn’t possible.

As I mentioned in my Amazon review, I couldn’t help but hear Crag T. Nelson’s voice as the narrator. Hope that doesn’t bother you. 😀
