Writing takes time.
That’s not a shocking revelation, and it’s not a problem, either. I love writing. It’s my craft and one of my favorite ways to spend my free time.
That being said, it usually takes me half a year to finish a book, which means long spells where I have nothing to show you. Like now. But I am busy working on things, so here’s a sneak peak at my current projects and what you can expect to read in the future.
Blood Orchid
A superheroine gets killed in the line of duty, rises from the grave as a vampire twenty years later, and has to take down the supervillain responsible for her death.
That’s the basic premise of Blood Orchid, and I’ve posted a few teasers from the book on Twitter. The first draft is actually finished, though it still needs edits. It’s scheduled for release in Phase II of Silver Empire Publishing’s Heroes Unleashed shared universe. If you’re curious about the world, you can check out the novels that have already been published in it.
As Yet Untitled Sci-Fi
I’m pitching this one as “Robin Hood in outer space.” It’s got a cyberpunk feel, a thief protagonist, and themes of found family. Plus, I’m learning all kinds of cool stuff as I research cybernetic implants and theories about colonizing the solar system.
I’ve got a prequel short story mostly finished (It still needs some tweaking.) and am currently drafting a novel. I won’t say much more at this point, but you can check out the Cyberpunk Inspiration board I’m putting together on Pinterest for a glimpse at the aesthetic I’m going for.
Misc.
Clockmaker is in the pipeline, though I can’t say I’m working on it, since it’s a re-release. It’s in the process of getting cover art, formatting, and all that fun publication stuff.
I’ve also been working on a bunch of different short stories. My plan after publishing Superhuman Disaster was to take a break from the universe of The White Knight & Black Valentine Series and flex my creative muscles–and it’s been fun and refreshing to try new things.
I hope you enjoy them when they come out. š
